Curator

Daniela Swarowsky is an Austrian artist and cultural producer living and working in Rotterdam and Berlin. After seven years in New York and eleven years in Rotterdam, she has developed over the past ten years a series of art-projects related to questions of migration and identity. Her film trilogy, Messages from Paradise — About the Permanent Longing for Elsewhere, is a series of fictive dialogs between Egypt-Austria (#1), Morocco-Holland (#2) around imaginaries of a better life and myths associated with migration. She is since 2002 artistic director of the Rotterdam based ZiM foundation, a founding member of Wolfart project space and since 2010 working at the ZMO in Berlin as curator of the ISOE? exhibition. She has lectured, curated and/or shown her work in Europe, the U.S., Canada, Egypt, Morocco and Senegal.
